Mary Cheney and girlfriend dine at White House

A diverse crowd showed up for Wednesday night’s lavish White House dinner honoring newlyweds Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

First daughter Jenna Bush brought her boyfriend, and Mary Cheney brought her girlfriend.

Now, bet that was the topic of conversation before, during and after. 😀

I was up all last night with a sick dog (Casey), slept for a few hours then was up as she started hurling again. We took her to the vet this afternoon and, nearly $400 later, we find out she is going to live, just is going to be on fluids for a few days.

I’ve not written anything today, other than a few emails. Well, wait, I take that back. I was on-line this morning when Sophia came on line too. We did some free-writing. I wrote out a scene or two for the NaNo project that won’t come into play for a few chapters yet.

But since I slept since then, it doesn’t feel like it was today, ya know?

Well, enough of this, Paula, get to work!

bookmark_borderWord Count Reasons

For those who don’t know, my word counts can be high because, well, I have no life.

I don’t work. I don’t have a hubby to clean/cook/prepare for. My wife/spouse/partner does our cooking, laundry day is on Friday and I bathe every Saturday, whether I need it or not. We don’t have kids but we do have dogs and cats, all of which take care of themselves except for the twice a day feeding rituals they make us do.

With so little obligations, my time is more open than you normal folk who have jobs, like to cook and clean, have children, care about your appearance, stuff like that. You know, have normal lives.

So please, don’t be envious or jealous. Don’t admire me for my skills in putting out a high count of crappy words. And please, don’t wish you were me.

‘Cause sometimes, I think I just might take you up on that.

PS: Don’t think I am strong, or brave, or admirable. I’m not. I’m just doing what I can with what I got.
