Other Writers with Blogs

I am cruising for other blogs that have claims of being by another writer. So far, of the five or so I have cruised to, only one has any semblance of being such. Then I realize, how much lately have I said anything about MY writing?? Not often, fer shur.

Anyway, came across Wry Writer who actually seems like a cool “viviparous mammalian carbon-based biped” (her words). On the main page is a disclaimer that made me realize we are like-minded. And I am jealous I didn’t think of it first:

Disclaimer

This blog may contain bile, rantings, fat, alcohol, carbs, prescription drugs, tasteful nudity, along with traces of peanuts and the bogies from my nose on boring days. Do not attempt to read this blog while licking the screen, your tongue may have an allergic reaction to static. Excessive reading of this blog may also cause drowsiness, boredom and blindness. Do not stick your finger in your eye, this too may cause blindness. No jelly babies were harmed in the construction of this blog.

Dang, why didn’t I think of that?? Reminds me I came across a link a few weeks ago (copied from the email I sent):

(from the CripHumor list)

Written by Jim Mica …

Readers of HUMOR have long known that the magazine Consumer Reports is a great source of humor. The magazine has done this by quoting interesting ads and marketing campaigns. Now we have word that the magazine’s parent organization, Consumers Union, is itself creating humor. This is such an exciting development that The New York Times has taken note*.

It seems that the folk at CU are dismayed by the plethora of TV ads for prescription drugs. They’re so dismayed that they have gone and made their own drug commercial. The (fictitious!) drug is called Progenitorivox. The soundtrack for the animated commercial is done by the Austin Lounge Lizards. Click here to view it.

Anyway, I digress. I will put up another post with lists of other writer blogs that I think are worthy of reading. And y’all know how important my opinion is.

  1. Thanks for the plug, and glad to know someone at least is dropping by to read and, at least, get a smile from what I write.

    Hope to see you again.
