WordPress Upgrade

Just did the latest upgrade/update to WordPress. Piece o’ cake.

I rarely muck with the wp-admin and wp-includes files so deleting and replacing them was not a problem. Just saved my quicktags.js file. And I of course downloaded the two folders before deleting.

  1. Guess I need to do that one of these days. Been so busy with making a buck to pay the bills to keep the electricity going to try to stay cool to keep from dying… Been 100 deg here everyday with no signs of letting up. Any caveats on the WP upgrade instructions?

  2. The upgrade was easy. You delete the wp-admin and the wp-includes as well as everything in the root directory but the wp-config.php. Then upload what you just deleted.

The only thing I did extra was download the quicktags file then reload it after I was done with the upgrade. With WS_FTP I just checked the dates for any file changed since the last upgrade. It was the only one.

They say if you can’t get to the upgrade just yet, delete the xmlrpc.php file.

Yeah, it’s been hot here too. Upper 80s. Then it rains. Then it feels like a sauna. I got a digital thermometer here in the livingroom. It got up to 82 in here yesterday. Right now, 9:10, it is 76. Phew.
