Romney Out!

Yay!

That man scared me. Still does. Something about him gave me the willies.

In a BBC article, he is quoted as saying:

In this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.
Mitt Romney

See, that’s what scares me. The man probably truly believes this. We surrendered to terror already when Shrub sent troops to Iraq. We surrendered to our terror of terrorists by letting those in power do things they shouldn’t. We surrendered to them, The Bush Administration, by sitting back and not arguing. Or not arguing loud enough. We were told we should be afraid. That part is right. But we were being told to be afraid of the Wolf by the Fox itself.

As for Obama and Clinton, I am for Obama. Yeah, I know, I should support the woman. But I can’t. Bill Clinton tried to do a good job while in office but his penis got more attention with congress. If we want change, true change, then Hilary Clinton isn’t that change. I feel our best chance as Americans would be to have Obama as president with Hilary Clinton as vice president. With his penis and her brain, perhaps we will regain what we have lost in the rest of the world’s eyes.

  1. You are right about the war however the troubling aspect of Romney dropping out is that this puts Huckabee in a prime position to be named McCain’s running mate. This is a strong possibility because McCain is disliked by the extreme right wing evangelical types. On the other hand, Huckabee is their “darling” and would attract their vote. Compared to Huckabee Romney is a day at the beach. For instance, he has made statements such as he would like to bring the constitution in line with God’s will and that gay marriage would lead to things like pedophilia and bestiality.

Where Obama is concerned I’m sure he would be a fine president. What concerns me about him is the liklihood of him throwing his gay constituency “under the bus” so to speak. I say this due to the incident concerning Donnie McClurkin. You may very well be familiar with this incident and Donnie. Donnie is a famous gospel singer who headlined an event for Obama. He is also extremely homophobic and claims to be a reformed ex-gay. He advocates “pray away the gay” and that type of thing. Additionally, there were other homophobic groups at the event however not as virulent as Donnie. When confronted with this Obama made a statement to the effect that “their is room for everybody under the tent. This is a way for us to overcome our differences.” Now in my humble opinion there is no room for bigotry and prejudice in my tent. What would the response have been if racial prejudice had been exposed? Why is homophobia more acceptable? It appears the gays are dispensable for the fundamentalist vote.

One final incident that was disheartening involved the mayor of San Francisco- Gavin Newsom. He was the mayor who fought hard for the right to marry for gays and lesbians in his city. Mr. Newsom assisted Mr. Obama by hosting two fund raisers at his request. Sadly, while he was attending a fund raiser being hosted by the former mayor Willie Brown Mr. Obama stated “I would really appreciate it if I didn’t get my picture taken with Gavin.” Apparently, this was due to the controvery Mr. Newsom was enduring during his fight for same-sex marriage. Mr. Newsom’s staff and Mr. Brown have verified the incident. Mr. Newsom has alluded to it.

Still, anybody is better than who we have now. Now’ve kept you from your work long enough. Get back to writing that book. Everybody’s waiting for it. 🙂
