Full ImageSEATTLE (AP) – Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) released an emergency security patch Tuesday to plug a hole in several versions of Windows – including Vista, which the software maker has touted as its most secure operating system ever.
Microsoft was so worried about the hole – which allowed hackers to break into personal computers and install malicious software – that it pushed out the critical security fix a week ahead of a regularly scheduled update.
Yet more reasons why I prefer Firefox and Thunderbird.
Um, using a different browser isn’t going to protect your operating system if it is Windows. Or did I miss a left turn?
Can’t escape the OS problem unless one goes Linux or Mac.
But of the 5 areas most affected, one is the MS browser and two are the MS email.
Use Firefox and/or Thunderbird (or Mozilla, or Netscape, or Opera) and avoid problems.
I’d dump Windoze altogether if I could.
